On July 19, 2024, VMEC-GEO Geotechnical Survey Company commenced the geotechnical survey project for the S&S GLOVE project. This initiative includes sample drilling and SPT testing, rock sampling, field plate load testing, and laboratory testing to ensure the highest quality and safety standards for the construction works.
As part of the S&S GLOVE project, VMEC-GEO conducted sample drilling and SPT (Standard Penetration Test) testing. The SPT method is widely used to determine the mechanical properties of soil by counting the number of hammer blows required to drive a sample tube into the ground. SPT testing provides essential information on soil density, bearing capacity, and strength.
Close supervision of the drilling and SPT testing process ensures that procedures are carried out according to technical standards, ensuring the integrity and accuracy of the collected soil samples. Data from SPT testing helps determine the load-bearing capacity of the soil, playing a crucial role in designing foundations for the construction works.
In addition to soil sampling, VMEC-GEO also performs rock sampling to analyze the mechanical and geological properties of rock layers at the survey site. Rock samples are carefully collected and transported to the laboratory for detailed testing.
Rock sampling provides a comprehensive understanding of the structure and composition of geological layers at the S&S GLOVE project site. This information is vital for evaluating and designing appropriate construction solutions, ensuring the sustainability and safety of the structures.
VMEC-GEO also conducts field plate load testing to evaluate the bearing capacity and settlement of soil in situ. This test involves compressing the soil under controlled loads to determine its mechanical properties, such as stiffness and compressibility.
Field plate load testing provides real-world data on the soil's load-bearing capacity, supporting foundation design and other structural elements. The results of this test ensure that constructions will be built on solid and stable foundations.
The collected soil and rock samples are transported to VMEC-GEO's laboratory for additional testing. These tests include analyzing moisture content, compressibility, porosity, and other mechanical properties of the soil and rock. Through comprehensive laboratory testing, VMEC-GEO can provide detailed and accurate results on the characteristics of the soil and rock, assisting engineers and designers in making informed construction decisions.
After collecting and analyzing the data from field and laboratory tests, VMEC-GEO's team of geotechnical experts conducts a detailed analysis to interpret the results. The findings are compiled into comprehensive reports that provide a clear understanding of the geotechnical conditions at the project site. These reports include recommendations for design and construction, ensuring that the foundations of the S&S GLOVE project are safe, stable, and efficient.
The geotechnical survey project for the S&S GLOVE project demonstrates VMEC-GEO Geotechnical Survey Company's commitment to providing high-quality, reliable geotechnical services. By applying advanced testing methods and detailed analysis, VMEC-GEO ensures the safety and sustainability of construction works, contributing to the sustainable development of the construction industry in Vietnam. VMEC-GEO takes pride in being a trusted partner, delivering exceptional value and satisfaction to its clients and stakeholders.
